Navigating the Politics of the Workplace: A Pilot Workshop for WISE NL Members

Every organization and workplace has an internal, sometimes intricate informal system of influence and relationships that can affect how decisions are made and how you are rewarded for your contributions and move ahead. Part of strengthening your leadership potential and toolbox is to understand the dynamics of workplace politics and use your increased organizational awareness ethically and with authenticity to contribute effectively and advance your work, team and career success.

The Canadian Centre for Women in Science, Engineering, Trades and Technology (WinSETT Centre) is partnering with WISE NL to offer this special pilot workshop, Navigating the Politics of the Workplace.

The interactive format and content will cover:

• Identifying organizational structures both formal and informal in the workplace
• Understanding relationships
• Tips for dealing with difficult situations and cross-cultural differences
• Sharing strategies to positively affect work outcomes and contributions to the organization,
  and to advance career success

Participants will receive and share information and resources and hear from a special guest presenter from a SETT organization. Lunch and nutrition breaks are provided.

Cost is $20 for WISE NL members, $40 for non-members. Attendance is limited to 25 women. Registration ends  October 1, 2014. Register Now!
